For those savvy enough to do their Christmas shopping early, they can find a number of deals that call help reduce their overall costs for presents.

The reason for these sales is quite simple.  Many retailers are trying to make room for new inventory by discounting products that are either not the best sellers or are simply discontinued products or last year’s models.  Either way, most customers can find some good quality products if they are ok with using last years models.

One online retailer, Amazon really provides customers with value during this time period.  They do this through their Gold Box Program.

The Gold Box Program shows a number of products that they have put on discount for a certain time period.  Usually this time period is a few weeks, but varies from product to product.  In addition, a nice thing about the Gold Box Program is it covers a wide range of products.  It can include laptops, watches, cell phones, gps devices, backpacks, portable dvd players, toys, digital cameras, clothing, and much more.

All this variety is nice because you can actually find something for everyone in this list.  With the tough recessionary times we are going through, this can be a great way to save money on gifts for people or even back to school supplies.  Many of these discounts can vary from as high as 70% to within the 10% to 20% off range.

Another nice feature of using Amazon.com is you get to go with the most trusted online retailer.  This provides you with peace of mind knowing your product will arrive on time and in the condition you expect.  It also can provide you with good discounts on shipping rates depending on which plan you use.  Finally, it saves you a trip to a local retail store which may or may not have the product you are searching for.  All and all, shopping at Amazon.com just makes more sense.

However, once you visit the Gold Box Program page, we have a few tips on how best to use it.  After looking at the Deal of the Day, scroll down to the section marked Best Deals.  This is the section that will you see all the different products that are on sale.  Here, you can either click on the arrow tabs to the left and right of the five products listed.  However, you can also click on the Sort by box to view these products according to price, newness, or percent off.  This sort box can be very helpful in helping make it easier to go through these products according to your terms.

The above method works great, but you can only view 5 products at a time.  For this reason, we suggest you click on the More of our best deals link which will let you vertically view products at 10 products per page.  These pages can also be sorted much like the original method which can allow you to view all the discounted products at a faster right.  We think you will find this method to be more helpful.

Besides these methods, there is actually a third way to search through these products and this is to search by category.  Below the Best Deals Box, there is another box that lists all the product categories that are offering a discount.  By simply clicking on the product category you want, you can find all the discounted products currently being promoted on Amazon.  This too can make your searching faster if you already know what type of product you want.
